관심 있게 듣던 어떤 사람이 그 이유를 물었을 때 그녀는 이렇게 대답했다고 합니다.
 
“오랜 시간 노래하면서 주위를 둘러보니
나 혼자서는 아무것도 할 수 없다는 것을 깨닫게 됩니다.

노래 한 곡 부를 때도 작곡가가 있어야 하고
피아노 제조업자가 있어야 하며 반주자가 있어야 합니다.
그 속의 나는 작은 협력자일 뿐입니다.”
